ME 109G-5 OF GUNTHER RALL – AIR ACES SERIES
This release from the ‘Air Aces’ series features the ME 109G-5 of General Gunther Rall, who flew a total of 800 missions. Rall was credited with 275 victories, making him the third highest scoring fighter ace in history. He mainly flew the Messerschmitt ME 109 in combat, serving for several years with the famous JG-52. He went on to fly the high-altitude version of the Me 109 with JG-11 and commanded JG-300 in the final stages of the war. Post-war he became Chief of Staff of the German Air Force.
Here his Me-109G-5 is shown engaging with P-38 Lightning Fighters of the US Air Force.
