THE MIGHTY EIGHTH COMING HOME (Secondary Market Copy)
by Robert Taylor
A flak damaged B-17 struggles to keep up with the group; B-24 Liberators have joined the formation and a P-51, low on fuel provides escort for the North Sea crossing. The US 8th Air Force, its mission almost completed, is coming home.
Released in 1992, along with THE MIGHTY EIGHTH – OUTWARD BOUND, to commemorate the 50th Anniversary of the American Air Force in Europe, the edition sold out very quickly and has sold on the secondary market for ever increasing sums over the years, becoming increasingly difficult to find.
This outstanding print is personally signed by the artist and by WWII 8th Air Force Bomber and Fighter pilots, including two recipients of the Medal of Honor:
Colonel WILLIAM LAWLEY MOH
Colonel EDWARD MICHAEL MOH
Major General ROBERT LANDRY
Colonel ALBERT SHOWER
Major CLIFF PETERSON
Colonel ROBERT MORGAN
This rare print seldom comes to the market, so we are especially pleased to be able to offer this clean and fully certificated example for sale.
